Toony Animation cc. was established in Cape Town, South Africa. It is a young, 100% black-owned, boutique animation studio that is the product of founder, Garth Sanders’ experience since 2000 in broadcast animation creating over 100 2D episodes and motion- graphic promo’s for various programmes across all SA broadcast networks. Our studio operates primarily in 2D although we are capable of handling other mediums.

A highlight of our company history has been creating 2D content for ETV s’, Siyabonga Gogo, a 50 x 5 min, episodic, children’s series about African folk tales. We are also truly grateful for receiving the Winner of the Public Favourite vote in the 2023 SceneIt Animation Competition for our short film "Peek-a-boo".
